Slate pavers are larger than cobblestones and, as such, can be challenging during placement; Ask another person to help lift and position slabs. Prepare catwalk in same way as you would a paved promenade; dig, level and slope of area and restrictions edge. As pavers, slabs placed on bed of sand and sweep sand between stones.
Create striking front entry walkway that sparkles with varying shades of blue, gray or brown with slate pavers. It has an uneven surface that provides some traction, even when wet tiles. Put slate tiles on a substrate of exterior grade plywood with a grouting. Leave to 5/8 inch between each tile for grouting. Slate line road with bright green plants border as Liriope. Plant thoughts in winter and spring, begonias in summer and chrysanthemums in autumn. Small solar lights are also a plus along any gateway front entrance. I put lights on each side of road, separated to 2 feet away.
