Double curtain rod – 1. Determines the height from which you want to be the (lighter) inner curtain. For this, calculated from where you want to drop the bottom of the curtain, considering how high the kick of it will extend above the rod. 2. Marks the spot lightly with pencil on each side of the window. Check that the marks are aligned horizontally holding the curtain rod in position and placing the level on it. Sets the alignment marks if need be corrected.
3. Place the supports for the inner double curtain rod about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of window covering, at the height indicated by the pencil marks. Use a punch to start the holes for the screws that hold the brackets in place.Insert the screws through the brackets and use a screwdriver to place.
4. Determines the location of the second set of brackets that hold the rod for external curtains. Place them about 2 inches (5 cm) wider and longer than the supports of the interior curtains, adjusting the actual extent of the curtains. 5. Use the double curtain rod and level to check the horizontal alignment of the marks, as in step 2. Install the brackets to the outer curtain performing the same procedure as in steps 4 and 5.
